From the 12th to the 15th January 2016, at Imperial Resort Beach Hotel in Entebbe (Uganda), the Greater Virunga Transboundary Collaboration (GVTC) is organizing a workshop aimed at designing data protocols for measure of success of conservation of Greater Virunga Landscape (GVL). This workshop will help GVTC and its partners develop a range of key indicators/targets for the measure of improved conservation of GVL which will be monitored through an annual conservation status report. The outcome of this experts’ session aims at data protocol generating in terms of data to be collected, how to they will be collected, analyzed, shared, etc. to measure improved conservation and inclusive growth in GVL.
The workshop will bring together 25 participants drawn from key conservation partners in the GVL, the private sector and development partners. The other participants will be a team of experts who will make presentations on the proposed key indicators and proposed protocols. The experts are proposed to come from IUCN, WWF, AWF, WCS and six other individuals.
