On the 4th November 2015, the Executive Secretary of the Greater Virunga Transboundary Collaboration (GVTC), Dr Georges Muamba Tshibasu, handed over to His Excellence Mr Elvis Mutiri wa Bashara, the Minister of Tourism in DRC, the GVTC Treaty fully signed by the three parties: the Democratic Republic of Congo, the Republic of Rwanda (which signed on the 22nd September in Kinshasa) and the Republic of Uganda which signed recently on the 30thOctober 2015 in Kampala. This valuable document establishes the legal existence of the transboundary collaboration and starts from now its ratification process by the parliamentarians of the three partner countries before it may be promulgated by the Heads of States.
DRC has stated out her willingness to contribute effectively to the implementation of this Treaty as soon as it is promulgated given the reason that the Treaty is of a great importance in the cooperation between the three sister countries.
