The GVTC Center of Excellence

The GVTC Center of Excellence is created to serve as Clearing House and support management information systems through information storing, information sharing, communication, that will support Protected Areas Management and conservation of resources in Greater Virunga Landscape.
The creation and development of the Center of Excellence (CoE) in the Greater Virunga Landscape (GVL) responds primarily to the crucial need for information sharing and constant communication between park managers and other stakeholders within the GVL. The process model from data gathering to data sharing and dissemination is presented in image aside figure.
This CoE is unique in its advanced communication system among all stakeholders, its mechanism for data storage and sharing, its advanced repository of geo-spatial databases enabling retrieval, analysis and information reporting, its repository of research and other materials related to best practices in transboundary management and its facilitation of on-line and face to face training in conservation and natural resource management.
